Temporomandibular jaw motion rehabilitation devices, such as the therabite system, are used to help with the treatment of trismus (reduced jaw opening). Trismus can result from a number of causes including head and neck cancer and its treatments (e.g. radiotherapy-induced fibrosis of the masticatory muscles), and maxillofacial and dental surgery.
