This seminar will be chaired by Paul Roy, Research Manager at Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB.<\/p>\n<p>People living with dementia from South Asian communities, along with their families, are often disadvantaged when seeking suitable support. There are many different reasons for this, but relatively few resources available for awareness raising, assessment and post-diagnostic interventions that are validated and culturally appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>All too often where resources do exist, then health care workers are unable to identify them. Moreover, good care often requires partnership working between large organisations, such as NHS Trusts, and smaller community-based organisations. However, tensions can arise in partnership working.<\/p>\n<p>To meet these challenges, the ADAPT project has created a website that brings together a toolkit of culturally appropriate resources focused on the dementia care pathway, from awareness of the condition to its medical assessment as well as post-diagnostic support.
