Walk-in Clinics in Our Area

5 to 11 year old walk-in clinics

These walk-in clinics offer vaccinations for all children aged 5 to 11, including children who have health conditions that put them at high risk from Covid-19 and those who live with someone who has a weakened immune system. For more information, please read this guide for parents of children aged 5 to 11 years at high risk or talk to your specialist or GP.

The interval between vaccine doses for children at higher risk from Covid-19 disease and those who live with someone with a weakened immune system is 8 weeks, rather than 12 weeks. If your child is in this position, please bring proof of their eligibility to the walk-in clinic.

If your child has a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 infection, please wait 12 weeks from the start of their infection before they are vaccinated, or 8 weeks if they have a health condition that puts them at higher risk. If they catch COVID after their first vaccine, they should wait 12 weeks (8 weeks for higher risk children) before having their second dose.

We will always do our best to vaccinate all 5 to 11 year olds who attend a walk-in clinic; however, the longer appointments required for vaccinating younger children mean that places may be limited.

Important information

Please ensure you are eligible for vaccination and check that the clinic you plan to visit offers the vaccination you need. More information on eligibility can be found on our Local Information page.

You do not have to be registered with a GP, have an NHS number or be documented in order to have your vaccination. If you are in this position, please attend a walk-in clinic or contact a GP to book your vaccination, explaining your situation.

When you come for your vaccination, please bring a face covering, your booking reference or NHS number if you know it, and remember to eat and drink before your appointment.

Please do not come for your vaccination if you have symptoms of COVID-19, are currently isolating, have had a positive lateral flow test, or are waiting for the results of a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 you must wait 28 days before you are vaccinated if you are over 18 and 12 weeks if you are under 18.
