Allied Health Professional Careers Fair 2024
The Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care System (ICS) are joining together to deliver the Allied Health Professional (AHP) Day on the 12th October.
The day will promote all 14 AHP professions and the different environments (GP Surgeries, Hospitals, Community, Social Care, Voluntary and independent sectors etc.,) that they work within to 14 to19-year-olds from across the region.
AHPs are the third largest clinical workforce in health and care in England. AHPs work across the health spectrum from prevention to specialist care provision. AHPs deliver care to individuals, groups and, in some cases, specific populations of children and older adults. There are 14 professions that make up the AHPs and each one is unique. Through holistic person-centred assessments and treatments, AHPs care for and support people from birth all the way through to end of life. AHPs focus on health and wellbeing improvement and prevention, helping people maximise their potential to live active and fulfilling lives.
On 12 October 2024, we are showcasing the AHP professions as well as educational options available to young people considering a career as an AHP. Some of the opportunities we will be promoting to young people on the day include A-levels, T-levels, BTECs, Apprenticeships, and degree programmes.
There will also be an Ambulance simulation through the paramedic team every hour in addition to various stands.
