Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board is working closely with local authorities, NHS providers, and VCSE partners to shape the future of children’s community health services across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
This is an opportunity to build on existing strengths while rethinking how services can work better together for children, young people, and families.
We have developed two surveys, one for professionals and one for parents and carers, to hear about experiences of current service delivery and where there are opportunities to improve the experiences and outcomes for children and young people in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
We are seeking input from professionals across all disciplines – including those working directly in children’s services, and those who work with or support children and young people in other settings, such as GPs or education professionals.
You will be asked questions on the following three areas:
If you help deliver or support children’s services, please complete the survey by 5pm on Friday 6 February and encourage colleagues within your networks to do so too.
The survey questions are optional, so please feel free to share whatever level of detail you feel is appropriate.

]]>NHS Bristol North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB and South Gloucestershire Council are working in partnership to develop a brand-new health centre in Thornbury, located on the former Thornbury Hospital site.
The project will provide a new home for both Severn View Family Practice and Streamside Surgery, as well as consulting rooms for community-based health services delivered by Sirona care & health.
The development is subject to planning approval, as well as the approval of the overall business case for the project.
If approved, £14.4 million in funding will be provided from the Department of Health and Social Care to deliver a brand-new health centre.
An online survey, as well as an information session held at St Mary’s Hall in Thornbury on Thursday 29 August, gave local people the chance to share their views on the layout, facilities and access to the proposed site.
You can still view the plans and find out more on a dedicated engagement website that was set up to capture feedback.

]]>We have published a draft All Age Oral Health and Dental Strategy for the next three years for the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care System (ICS).
The All Age Oral Health and Dental Strategy builds on the overall Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICS Strategy that aims to tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access. It has been developed using patient complaints, feedback collated by Healthwatch, a staff survey and the support of staff across all areas of dental provision, NHS England and local authority public health.
Access to NHS dental care continues to be one of the main issues we hear about from the public. Difficulties getting support has led to many people living in pain.
In February 2024, NHS England announced the new national recovery plan. The Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICS are working with regional colleagues on implementing the national plan and the draft Oral Health and Dental Strategy describes the further action required to improve oral health and increase access.
We know that people from the most deprived communities struggle the most to access dental care because they cannot afford it. We need to ensure plans address these health inequalities.
We believe that delivering on the following strategic aims during 2024 to 2027 are needed:
Please see further details within the draft strategy on the related objectives and the accompanying progress report on what we have delivered so far.
As service users or staff in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, your views can further influence our dental strategy 2024 – 2027.
This survey is now closed.
