These include small volunteer-led groups, large national charities, social enterprises and organisations that support marginalised groups and help people in crisis.<\/p>\n<p>There are some significant challenges to VCSE integration. While local authorities have worked with the VCSE sector for many years, the NHS is still developing practices. Some of the challenges are common for all Integrated Care Systems, but some are specific to our area.<\/p>\n<p>However, these challenges can be overcome, and we have made good progress by working together with the local VCSE sector and our system partners.<\/p>\n<p>The documents included on this page outline how we aim to make it easier for VCSE participation, focusing on tackling culture, planning, governance and investments in VCSE structures.<\/p>\n  <\/div>\r\n  <\/section><\/div><!-- .assembler_text-module.assembler_module.assembler_text-module_2.assembler_module_2..transparent --><div class=\"assembler_text-module assembler_module assembler_text-module_3 assembler_module_3  transparent\"><a tabindex=\"-1\" title=\"Section titled module-3\" id=\"module-3\" href=\"https:\/\/bnssghealthiertogether.org.uk\/gu\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/41598\/#module-3\" class=\"anchor\"><span class=\"hidden\">Section titled module-3<\/span><\/a><!-- Template found for text-module - Template: template-text - Matched: _only --><section class=\"w-full mx-auto max-w-content pt-3 sm:pt-6 pb-3 sm:pb-6\">\r\n  <div class=\"entry-content w-full !px-0 max-w-small\">\r\n        <h2>VCSE Vision and Framework for Action<\/h2>\n<p>Following an engagement process with local VCSE organisations and system partners, we have developed a new <a href=\"https:\/\/bnssghealthiertogether.org.uk\/library\/vcse-vision-and-framework-for-action\/\">VCSE Vision and Framework for Action<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first time our integrated care system has outlined our vision for how we will include diverse VCSE organisations across the system. The approach brings together several years of collaboration and sets out both short-term and long-term goals.<\/p>\n<p>The Vision and Framework for Action is supported by the VCSE Alliance Steering Group and the NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB Board.<\/p>\n<p>We are\u00a0in the process of setting up a Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Strategic VCSE Group, which will help drive forward the vision and actions.<\/p>\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/bnssghealthiertogether.org.uk\/library\/vcse-vision-and-framework-for-action\/\"  class=\"btn-link flex w-[fit-content] \">Read the VCSE Vision and Framework for Action<\/a>\n\n  <\/div>\r\n  <\/section><\/div><!-- .assembler_text-module.assembler_module.assembler_text-module_3.assembler_module_3..transparent --><div class=\"assembler_text-module assembler_module assembler_text-module_4 assembler_module_4  transparent\"><a tabindex=\"-1\" title=\"Section titled module-4\" id=\"module-4\" href=\"https:\/\/bnssghealthiertogether.org.uk\/gu\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/41598\/#module-4\" class=\"anchor\"><span class=\"hidden\">Section titled module-4<\/span><\/a><!-- Template found for text-module - Template: template-text - Matched: _only --><section class=\"w-full mx-auto max-w-content pt-3 sm:pt-6 pb-3 sm:pb-6\">\r\n  <div class=\"entry-content w-full !px-0 max-w-small\">\r\n        <h2>Commissioning Intentions \u2013 VCSE Strategic Investments<\/h2>\n<p>Our recent work with the VCSE sector has focused on establishing a new structure for VCSE engagement, introducing new VCSE Integration Principles and co-designing an inclusive, equitable and robust process for investing in VCSE activities.<\/p>\n<p>NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB) has committed to investing \u00a3250,000 per year toward VCSE structures and developments through the Proactive Care Fund. ICB Executives recently approved our <a href=\"https:\/\/bnssghealthiertogether.org.uk\/library\/commissioning-intentions-vcse-strategic-investments-2025-2026\/\">strategic commissioning intentions<\/a> for investments from 2025\/2026 onward.<\/p>\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/bnssghealthiertogether.org.uk\/library\/commissioning-intentions-vcse-strategic-investments-2025-2026\/\"  target=\"https:\/\/bnssghealthiertogether.org.uk\/library\/commissioning-intentions-vcse-strategic-investments-2025-2026\/\" class=\"btn-link flex w-[fit-content] \">Read the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire VCSE Strategic Commissioning Intentions<\/a>\n\n<p>In a listening exercise during May and June 2025, Healthier Together system partners and stakeholders provided feedback on the commissioning intentions. Since the commissioning intentions were published, there have been many changes in NHS and system policy, structures and plans.
