Refreshed Joint Forward Plan for health and care services is published

Local organisations have published a plan covering all aspects of health and care in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire for the next five years.

The Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care System Joint Forward Plan sets out the priorities across health and care services until 2029. It describes goals local organisations are working towards over the coming years, such as making the area smokefree by 2030, attracting more students into health and social care careers and achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030.

The plan covers priorities within:

  • Population Health, Prevention and Inequality
  • Children and Young People
  • Community and Primary Care
  • Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism
  • Acute Services
  • Sustainability and Environment
  • Enablers

Sarah Truelove, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer at NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB, said:

“The Joint Forward Plan is a result of significant collaboration involving all partners across the Healthier Together Integrated Care System.

“We’ve worked extensively to use key sources of insight from local engagement, health insight reports and more to inform our plans and ensure they are well placed to suit the needs of local people.”

A dedicated website for the plan has been created to provide an overview to the Joint Forward Plan. It includes videos on elements of the plan, infographics and highlights how we will measure progress.
