He has a strong commitment to \u2018Place\u2019 based working and the power of partnerships at a local level to support communities.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Before joining the NHS in 2017, Jeff enjoyed a long data-contrast=\"auto\">He gained extensive leadership experience during that period, reaching the rank of Chief Constable of Gwent Police and holding several other national policing from Cardiff, has studied at the University of Portsmouth, Cardiff University and most recently, the University of Bath where he received his Doctorate in Policy Research and Queen\u2019s Police Medal in the 2014 birthday honours list and in 2016 was the winner of the Institute of Directors, Director of the Year for the Public Sector in Wales for his work with the Welsh was appointed Chair of NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB in 2021 and was previously Chair of University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In line with the Government\u2019s reforms, NHS Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) will have a crucial role to play in the future making the ambitions set out in the 10 Year Health Plan a reality on the ground with a more focused role as <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">strategic commissioners of local health services.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Alongside their partners, they will be responsible for improving population health, closing health inequalities and building the new neighbourhood health service.<\/span><span statutory responsibilities this year under the clustering arrangement, but will work in ever closer partnership.\u00a0<\/span><span a prolonged period of uncertainty and I will work closely with the transition committee to ensure we are doing everything we can to support them through the changes ahead and develop the right priorities.
