Understanding your Urgent Suspected Cancer referral<\/h1>\n

This page is for patients who have been referred for a fast track appointment.<\/p>\n

Why do I need a fast track appointment?<\/h2>\n

Your GP has decided that you need an urgent appointment for further investigation of your symptoms.<\/p>\n

Your symptoms can be caused by a number of conditions which may include cancer, so it is important for you to be seen quickly. The earlier that a cancer is found, the higher the chance of successful treatment.<\/p>\n

It is important to remember that even though you have been referred for an urgent investigation, this does not necessarily mean you have cancer. Most people who are referred on an Urgent Suspected Cancer Pathway do not <\/strong>have cancer.<\/p>\n

Your GP has requested that you are seen quickly. Please make every effort to be flexible and attend the appointment the hospital arranges with you.<\/strong><\/p>\n
