Travelling to your vaccination appointment in North Somerset
You can book a vaccination appointment in North Somerset using the online National Booking Service or by calling 119. New appointments are added regularly, so please keep trying if nothing local is available. Your GP will also invite you to book a vaccination appointment at a North Somerset clinic.
If you use the National Booking Service you are now able to pre-book your booster appointment once it is 5 months after your second dose. However, the date of your appointment will be at least 6 months (182 days) after your second dose. Previously, you had to wait until you received an invitation from the National NHS before being able to book your booster.
If you need help to get to your appointment, there are lots of organisations in North Somerset that can help with transport.
North Somerset Community Transport Services DirectoryTravelling to your vaccination appointment at UWE Bristol or community pharmacy
If you have received a letter from the national booking team inviting you to have your COVID-19 vaccination at either the Vaccination Centre at UWE Bristol or a community pharmacy but you are unable to get to any of these sites, you have the option of waiting to be contacted by your GP to arrange an appointment at a local practice site.
Alternatively, you may be eligible for NHS Volunteer Responder Transport to take you to your appointment at UWE. For this service, you will need to be referred through either your GP or local community organisation.
Some taxi firms offer reduced price fares to the Vaccination Centre at UWE Bristol, though none of these offers are directly endorsed by the NHS or our partners.
Travelling to your vaccination appointment at your local GP vaccination centre
If you would prefer to wait to be vaccinated at your local GP led vaccination centre there may be community transport options available through your local practice. There will generally be a charge but it will be a nominal fee, and normally about a third of the cost of a taxi, however some local arrangements may be different.
Housebound patients
If you are registered housebound then your GP practice will arrange to come to you.
