Focus groups to support health care communications campaigns
The Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire health and care system is working closely together to support people who rely on services.
One important area of focus is Home First – a number of services and programmes which support people to stay at home longer or come home from hospital more quickly. We know people recover better at home, and unnecessary extended stays in hospital have really negative impacts on people’s health; especially older people. That’s why this work is so important to get right.
One of the things we’re doing to support this work is to develop communications campaigns and activity to share information and awareness about the support available for people outside of hospital, as well as messaging and communications to support staff working to deliver those services.
We want to test the messages we have started to design with the people we are aiming these at and are holding a series of focus groups to talk through some concepts and ideas. We are looking for people who would be interested in taking part in these sessions and give us their views.
The groups we are looking at are:
- Frontline social workers – those working with people needing care on daily basis
- Community therapists
- General public – particularly those who may have had a hospital stay or received support in the community
The details of the sessions are below. We are really sorry these are at short notice; we had a number of issues beyond our control which meant we couldn’t confirm them earlier.
