BNSSG Healthier Together

Planning the new direction for our health and social care system continues

Work to develop the first edition of the integrated care system strategy for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire continues to move forward.

The strategy, which is being developed by the organisations responsible for health and social care services in our area – known locally as Healthier Together, includes:

  • Co-designing with patients, carers, and other providers
  • Developing and implementing interventions and changes
  • Monitoring and evaluating progress

An early draft brings together information and data about health and wellbeing for our population; insights from our communities, health and social care staff and service users. It is based on the strategic framework, which we published at the end of December 2022.

The draft will help give shape to the ongoing development of the strategy, with the first edition due to be published at the end of June 2023.

Joint forward plan published

Alongside the strategy development, on 31 March our Integrated Care Board (ICB) published its draft joint forward plan.

This outlines how the ICB will deliver on the national vision of high-quality healthcare for all, through equitable access, excellent experience, and optimal outcomes over the next five years.

You can find out more about our integrated care system strategy and the joint forward plan on the strategy pages.
