Riverbank Vaccination Centre to close

19 August 2022

The Riverbank Vaccination Centre on Walford Avenue in Worle is set to close from 22 August.

The centre has provided around 150,000 Covid-19 vaccinations since it opened in early 2021.

Vaccinations in Weston-super-Mare, Worle and surrounding villages will continue to be delivered at GP surgeries and the walk-in clinic at Bourneville Family Clinic at The For All Healthy Living Centre.

Recently announced Autumn booster vaccinations will begin in September and will be delivered through all local GP surgeries. There is no need to contact GP surgeries for an appointment, the NHS will contact eligible people when it’s their turn.

Brandie Deignan, Chief Executive of Pier Health Group, who ran the Riverbank Vaccination Centre, said:

“I would like to thank all our staff, volunteers and partners who helped deliver life-saving vaccinations to so many local people. It has been a pleasure working alongside them – this would not have been possible without their commitment.

“Vaccinations for Covid-19 and flu will be extremely important as we head into autumn and winter and we look forward to supporting the NHS to deliver these to our most vulnerable people over the coming months.”
