Health and Social Care organisations across Bristol North Somerset and South Gloucestershire are always looking for new employees to support the health and wellbeing of your local community. You will not always need prior experience, a degree, or exceptional qualifications. In most cases, the organisation will provide all the training you require and pay for any additional qualifications you may require, this could include the funding of a level 7 apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are a great way to start your career within health and social care. They provide you with the opportunity to gain internationally renowned qualifications for free (no student loan), earn a wage, and gain significant experience. Apprenticeships are also a great way to progress once you are employed by a Health and social care organisation. Did you know that you can now become a Registered Nurse through an apprenticeship programme? Soon you will be able to apply for a doctor apprenticeship.

Nearly 1000 employees are currently completing an apprenticeship within the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire region.

T-Levels

We are currently working with the 3 local colleges to delivery Health related T-level programmes, including the T-level Health Supporting with the Adult Nursing Team. The T-levels in Health has been co-designed by the local colleges and health care providers to ensure young people leave with the skills, knowledge and experience to progress into a career pathway of their choice (Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy etc). Brunelcare is an award-winning Bristol-based charity providing high-quality housing, care and support for older people in the Sout West. Founded during the Bristol Blitz in 1941, Brunel Care have been supporting people to make the most of every moment for over 80 years.

As a charity, they support over 2,000 customers across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Somerset, providing care in people’s own homes, specialist care homes, and reablement facilities, with recognition for their expertise in caring for people living with dementia. Housing is provided by 1,000 properties, across 33 sites, three extra care housing sites and a retirement village.

The fifth, The Chocolate Quarter, recently opened in Keynsham – on the site of the old Cadbury chocolate factory! Each of these villages is there to offer high quality care and support for older people in various stages of their life. The villages have things like shops, a gym, a hairdresser, restaurants… everything to give our residents a real feeling of freedom and a good quality of life.

One Care is the GP federation that represents and supports practices in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG).  Established in 2014, they have 76 member practices across the area who provide healthcare for around 1 million patients.

One Care supports their practices with many different aspects of running their businesses. This includes areas like finance, business intelligence and IT. They also support practices to work at scale, holding contracts on their behalf as required and offering relevant expertise.
