ICB approves Intelligence Centre to help transform health and care
21 May 2026
NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB) has approved the full business case for its new Intelligence Centre, with Accenture now confirmed as the implementation partner. This marks a significant step forward in the ICB’s digital ambitions and supports the NHS 10 Year Health Plan shift from analogue to digital.
The Intelligence Centre will bring together data and information from across local health and care organisations, providing a bird’s eye view of how services are used and where need is greatest. At the moment, information is often held in separate systems and formats, which means it can be difficult to have a complete picture.
The Intelligence Centre will build on the NHS Federated Data Platform, a national initiative designed to help NHS organisations connect and use information more effectively. In Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, the Intelligence Centre will go further by combining the national platform with additional digital tools and processes to support workflow, analytics and modelling.
Shane Devlin, Chief Executive Officer of NHS Gloucestershire ICB and NHS Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire ICB Cluster, said:
“Ultimately this is about better outcomes for the population we serve. By providing a complete view of the data that is available, all partners will be able to spot problems and opportunities earlier, understand where outcomes vary, and plan services more accurately.”
It is expected that the first phase of development will be completed before the end of this financial year.
