New Information Sharing Charter now live

The Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Information Sharing Charter has now gone live – setting a new standard for secure and streamlined data sharing across our local health and care organisations.

Led by Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB), with input from a wide range of partners, the Charter is a key step for creating a consistent approach to data sharing between our local organisations. It’s anticipated that in time membership will be extended to other organisations.

The ICB and following system partners are already signed up to this new way of working and are Charter members:

  • Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust
  • Bristol City Council
  • BrisDoc
  • NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB
  • North Bristol NHS Trust
  • University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust
  • North Somerset Council
  • OneCare
  • Second Step
  • South Gloucestershire Council
  • Sirona care & health
  • South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust
  • Over 50% of General Practices in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

The Charter sets out a clear, shared commitment to handle information safely, securely and responsibly. By signing up to the Charter, the ICB is actively contributing to enabling the flow of information that will help to improve care, planning and patient outcomes.

Commenting on the new way of working, Kerrie Darvill, Intelligence Centre Programme Director at the ICB, said: “The Charter is a great step forward for anyone that manages data and data sharing agreements, which are often very complex and time-consuming. It paves the way for more efficient collaboration, while maintaining our commitment to protecting people’s information.”
