Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) had almost disappeared in England because most people had been vaccinated. Now, not enough people have had the MMR vaccine so these dangerous illnesses are becoming more common.
Measles, in particular, is highly contagious and can cause serious, long-term side-effects.

It is never too late to have your MMR vaccine. So if you are not sure if you were vaccinated when you were a child or you didn’t have both doses of the vaccine, it is safe and recommended to be vaccinated again.

MMR Key Facts
We worked with local communities to develop a MMR Key Facts flyer. It is a short summary of the most important information people need to know about MMR and the illnesses the vaccine protects against. The leaflet is currently available in English, Somali, Polish, Arabic, Romanian, Mandarin and Cantonese. Some audio versions can also be downloaded below.

The ‘Let’s talk about the MMR vaccine’ film shows Dr Asha Mohammed along with local community members Safiya, Salma and Daad explaining why the MMR vaccine matters and how it can help protect people. It was created by members of the Bristol community, and was commissioned by Bristol City Council and community health partners.
