This strategy relates to the prevention and management of pressure injuries in all settings where people may be at risk, or where pressure injuries are identified, including hospitals, hospices, care homes and people’s own homes. It applies to all staff groups in health or social care settings who have patients or residents who may be at risk of developing a pressure injury.
This strategy should be applied by all providers. Local policies and guidance developed within provider organisations should be aligned to the principles of the strategy.
