Minor injury units and urgent treatment centres give you fast treatment for injuries that can’t wait, like broken bones, burns and eye injuries.
They don’t replace A&Es, which you should still use in life-threatening emergencies. But if it’s not an emergency, you’ll usually get treated faster and more easily. This is especially important during the winter when hospitals are often much busier.
There are three units in our area, provided by the local NHS community healthcare provider, Sirona care & health:
They treat children as well as adults, and they’re open long hours on weekdays as well as weekends. They are also open on bank holidays.
Check the Sirona website for opening times.
They are a walk-in service, so you don’t need to make an appointment or call ahead.
