In many cases, the hiring organisation will provide all the training you need and even pay for additional qualifications you might need. This could include funding of Level 7 apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships

These are a great way to start your career in health and social care. They provide you with the opportunity to gain internationally renowned qualifications for free (no student loan needed), to earn a wage and gain significant experience.

Apprenticeships are also a great way to progress once you are employed by a health and social care organisation. Did you know that you can now become a Registered Nurse through an apprenticeship programme? Soon you will be able to apply for a Doctor apprenticeship too.

Nearly 1,000 people are currently completing an apprenticeship in the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire region.

Technical Levels (known as T Levels)

We are currently working with three local colleges to deliver health-related T Level programmes, including the T Level Health Supporting with the Adult Nursing Team. The T Level in Health has been co-designed by local colleges and healthcare providers to ensure young people leave with the skills, knowledge and experience to progress into a career pathway of their choice (Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy etc). To find out more about the different T Level programmes available please contact your local college.

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, North Bristol NHS Trust, and Sirona care & health collaborated on the recruitment of newly qualified Band 5 Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.

The Pilot was a great success and the phase two is underway. The organisations are planning the next recruitment event, planned for April 2024. Check back in to keep an eye on updates.
