Locality partnerships review

An independent review looking at the role of locality partnerships across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) has concluded and has resulted in recommendations approved by the BNSSG Integrated Care Board in February.

In June 2024, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Partnership commissioned the independent review into the role of locality partnerships across the local area. The purpose was to understand the areas of focus for the six locality partnerships currently and provide recommendations on future direction.

A report summarising the review process, partner feedback and recommendations was presented to the Board, it recommends that localities should continue their development as central mechanisms for delivering integrated care to communities. It also highlights localities as playing a key role in delivery of the Integrated Care System Strategy and the Healthier Together 2040 plan, as well as the development of Neighbourhood Health and creation of Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, which will bring together people and services to improve population health and wellbeing.

The review was jointly funded by Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board, Bristol City Council, North Somerset Council and South Gloucestershire Council.
