New Charter will enhance data security
Organisations across the area are being invited to sign up to a new Information Sharing Charter, which aims to help create a consistent approach to data sharing.
Developed by health and care partners in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, the Charter sets clear rules for safely sharing data between organisations. It will help to streamline the steps teams need to take when they share or access system-wide data, while upholding the Data Protection Act and UK General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
In time, organisations that have signed up to the Charter will be able to access the Intelligence Centre – a new and secure data portal that is currently in development.
Kerrie Darvill, Intelligence Centre Programme Director, said:
“By signing up to the Charter, organisations are setting out a clear commitment to how data is managed and shared sensitively and securely – it’s added piece of mind for everyone. It will also pave the way for accelerating collaboration across our organisations and reduce the need for multiple data-sharing agreements.”
