The Intelligence Centre is a new digital capability being developed by NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board to bring together health and care data, analytics, and planning tools in one secure, easy-to-use environment.
It builds on the NHS Federated Data Platform programme led by NHS England and combines this national infrastructure with additional tools for workflow, modelling, and analysis.
Each time someone comes into contact with our healthcare system – whether that’s with their GP, a hospital, or a community service – information is recorded. But it is often stored in siloed IT systems and inconsistent formats.
We want to create a tool that provides a bird’s eye view of how services are used, what health needs there are, and a way of managing demand and capacity across our area.
This will help us to understand our citizens’ health and wellbeing, to identify communities where our services are not meeting their needs, to see where people’s health is better or worse than expected, and test new models of care.
The Intelligence Centre will help us improve how we plan, deliver, and evaluate health and care services across our area. It will:
Overall, the Intelligence Centre will help us to revolutionise the way we plan and deliver health and care services, ultimately leading to better outcomes and healthier lives for people living in our area.
The Intelligence Centre programme timeline is currently as follows:
|
April 2026 | ICB Board approve full business case and Accenture confirmed as implementation partner |
| April 2026 – March 2027 | Design, development, build and testing | |
| April 2027 – March 2029 | Ongoing development | |
| March 2029 | Intelligence Centre fully implemented |
