Become a Lived Experience Contributor for learning disability and autism project

Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care System (ICS) is working to develop a Dynamic Support Register. This is an all-age list of autistic people and people with a learning disability (subject to their consent) which allows staff to better support people at risk of a mental health hospital admission.

Lived Experience Communicators
We are looking for 2 Lived Experience Communicators to join our Steering Group and Reference Group.
They will come to meetings to share ideas and opinions, ask questions and raise any challenges or concerns. They will feedback discussions from the Steering Group with the Reference Group and will communicate the views of the Reference Group to the Steering Group.
Lived Experience Advisors
We are also looking for 4 Lived Experience Advisors to join our Reference Group.
This group will hear from the Lived Experience Communicators about the topics being discussed in the Steering Group and give their opinions and questions to the Communicators for them to raise at the next Steering Group meeting.
About the meetings
Steering Group meetings
This group is attended by people who work in Learning Disability services and people who work in Autism services, including from health, social care and voluntary organisations. Meetings are:
- held monthly, on a Tuesday
- two hours long, from 10am to 12pm
- held at City Hall, College Green, Bristol
- attended by 10 to 20 people who attend in-person or online.
Adult Reference Group meetings
This group is attended by the 2 Lived Experience Communicators, 4 Lived Experience Advisors and the Dynamic Support Register project team. Meetings are:
- held monthly, on a Wednesday
- two hours long from 10am to 12pm
- held at City Hall, College Green, Bristol
- attended by 9 people who will all attend in-person.
About the roles
We will provide £20 per hour to recognise your involvement, plus travel expenses.
These roles are anticipated to begin in August 2024 and end in March 2025. They may end sooner if we complete the work before this date or they may be extended if more time is needed.
