What to do if you’re falling often

If falls are happening often, it’s important to get support and take steps to reduce your risk.

If you’re concerned about your welfare and feel unable to leave the house, as long as you are registered with a GP in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, you can access local support services from Sirona care & health.

  • You can refer yourself directly to the Sirona Community Integrated Network Team without seeing a GP. Contact them on 0300 125 6789.
  • If you’re falling often due to balance, vision or long-term health conditions, talk to a GP or healthcare professional. They may refer you to the Sirona Specialist Falls Service for extra support.

The Sirona Falls Awareness Bundle is available for people at risk of falling. It includes helpful resources and information to support you in staying safe.

You can also visit our pages for staying active and strong, looking after your health and fall-proofing your home to find information and support to lower your risk and stay independent.

Getting up safely

If you fall, it’s important to stay calm and take time to check if you have any pain or injuries before trying to get back up. The NHS website is a great resource with step-by-step guidance on what to do if you fall and when to get help.

You can also download this helpful guide to getting up from falls from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
